Blog post 6 - An evaluation of your blogging experience

 

As our last post this semester I would like you to write about your experience using blogs in the English class.

Say:

• What you think about the experience in general
• How much you feel your writing skills have developed
• What you would like to include in the future
• What else you would like to write about

Make comments on 3 of your classmates' posts.

Blog post 5 - A subject you have enjoyed studying this year

 

Write about your favorite subject this term. 

Include:

• Name of subject
• Describe what you do in classes
• Mention the main contents you have seen
• Explain why you like the subject

Blog post 4 - A photograph you like

This week you are going to write about a photograph that you like.

You need to upload it and tell us about it with some description about:

• Who took it
• What it shows
• When it was taken
• Why you like it

Write 150 words and ask a question about my post in the comment section and a question for 3 of your classmates.  

Blog post 3 - Career-related website OR A person or expert in your field that you admire

 This week you have to choose between:   

A career-related website that you enjoy visiting

You have to:

• provide the link
• describe the website (sections, features, etc.)
• say how often you visit the site
• explain why you like the site.

Blog post 1 - Set up & Why you chose this career

Hi Students

Welcome to our first blog post.

Today we are going to get started on our blogs. Everyone will create their own blog as well as follow my blog and your classmates, so that we can comment on each other's posts. 

Blog Assessment
Blogs are 20% of your final grade. There will be 6 blog post assignments. There are 2 ways they are graded:

1. Blog post task completion. (50% of blog assessment grade)

• Full >> 7 (completed the post by the end of the day assigned)
• Partial >> 4 (If you completed the post but after the day it was assigned)
• Not done >> 1

For example, if you complete all 6 blog post assignments you will obtain 42 points which is a 7.0.

2. I will choose 2 of your blog posts and assess each of them according to the following criteria - Task, Lexis, Grammar. (50% of blog assessment grade)

3 points>>
Task: All aspects of the task are very well handled.
Lexis: Excellent use of lexical resources
Grammar: Grammar is excellent and almost error-free

2 points>>
Task: The task is sufficiently handled
Lexis: Good use of lexical resources /Coherence generally well handled.
Grammar: Grammar is adequate despite minor errors

1 point>>
Task: Some details of the task are missing or erroneous
Lexis: Some problems with word formation and usage. Occasional lapses in coherence that hinders clarity of message
Grammar: Grammar is weak with noticeable errors

0 points>>
Task: Writing is unrelated to task
Lexis: Incorrect or erroneous lexis usage (or flaws in coherence) that hinders communication of message
Grammar: Too many grammar errors to convey message

In this section, the maximum score for each post is 9 points, which equals a 7.0 grade.
